Gary Douglas sat on his first horse at two and began riding them at the age of four. He says that the horses taught him how to be a good rider,

“Every time I got on a horse that knew more than I did, I learned about being a better rider.”

Gary Douglas - Cosncious Horse Conscious RiderHow many of us actually need to be taught by our horses instead of trying to command them and force them into doing things? Rather than assuming you’re in control, would you be willing to consider that the thousand plus pounds of horse you’re sitting on is letting you ride it out of their choice?

Gary created Conscious Horse Conscious Rider to improve the performance of the horse and the rider. He leads the classes with humor and practical lessons. As Gary says, “The horses are conscious and it’s the rider that makes the mistakes.” He demonstrates how you can communicate with your horse and suggests you begin by asking them a question. If you use this technique, “Your horse will actually start to do what you ask, because they really want to please you.” It’s essential to be totally present when you communicate with animals. Gary says, “Really good riders automatically communicate telepathically with their horses. They seem to know that’s how animals get their information and they talk to them in that way. When you think ‘trot’ at a horse, it will trot. If you think it’s going to explode, it will. It will do whatever you ask of it. When you expect it to act bad, guess what it’s going to do? Animals are incredibly aware. They will do everything they can to teach us the right thing to do.”

In his book, “Talk to the Animals,” Gary and his co-author, Dain Heer, explain that everything on this earth has consciousness. If you start to function with the consciousness of things, they will tell you what they would like and how to interact with them. This is especially true of animals. If you acknowledge the consciousness of animals, they will start to behave differently with you than they do with other people. Animals can help us learn to function with the earth. They can teach us how to be stewards of our planet instead of destroyers. That’s the value of being able to talk to them.

So if you want to know if you have the right horse for you, just ask; say, “Do you want to be my horse?” The horses know who they want to belong to and they’re good for people they like to be with. Gary will tell you, “The reality is, they own us…we don’t own them. Does your horse go to work to earn food for you, or do you go to work to earn food for your horse? Which is it? Who’s in charge? Who really creates the relationship, you or the horse?”

Gary Douglas travels the world facilitating greater awareness and communion with animals through his Conscious Horse Conscious Rider workshops. He uses the tools of Access Energy Transformation to show people how to assist animals in healing themselves. He says, “Anyone can learn how to heal emotional and physical ailments and create a better connection with their animals.” To find out more,, you can go to the website and read about this approach to communicating with animals.
